About the author

Lloyd Jerome was born in Yorkshire in 1961 and grew up in the Dales. He studied Dental Surgery in Edinburgh, graduating in 1985, and went on to travel and work across Europe, Africa, and Australia. He later ran an art gallery and dental practice in Glasgow, where he met his wife, Laura.

In 2005, Lloyd and Laura moved to the Far North of New Zealand, where they have lived for over twenty years. The landscapes and cultures of the places he has called home — the Yorkshire moors, the Edinburgh academic world, the African wilderness, and the Northland coast — run directly through his writing.

Lloyd has written throughout his life. He self-published a memoir, Cricket By Candlelight, in 2015, and has recently completed his debut novel, Entrance, a literary novel spanning two centuries and seven lives.

When he isn't writing, Lloyd can usually be found restoring a mechanical watch, planning the next motorhome trip, or arguing over the merits of classic films with anyone patient enough to listen.
